CANTAB mobile - a new touchscreen test for dementiaFeatures and benefits

Technology helping doctors to detect memory impairment early

Every type of primary care provider will encounter patients who either believe they are losing their memory or who have been told their memory is abnormal by others.

Most current methods are time-consuming for a GP to use, insensitive in 50 to 60 year olds and those with high levels of education, and can be inaccurate when English is not the patient’s native language.

CANTABmobile gives you a quick accurate assessment of a patient's memory and whether it is within normal range, in several different languages.

Simple 'traffic light' reports to indicate next steps

Patient is below the norm expected of their age, gender and level of education indicative of a clinically relevant memory problem.  If routine tests show no reversible cause for memory impairment, the patient should be referred on for further assessment.

Performance on the memory test was at the lower end of the normative range. The patient may benefit from additional assessment or monitoring over time.

Performance on the PAL memory test was in the normal range. There are no signs of memory impairment at this time.  Reassess in the future if the patient notices a worsening of memory.
